I use and modify methods from statistics and machine learning to analyze many different microbiomes and the interactions within them.
I collaborate with members of C-MĀIKI to help them get more out of their data. Working across multiple systems that include host-associated and environmental, unique to Hawaii and globally present microbiomes aligns my research with the broad vision of C-MĀIKI.
IMPACT TO HAWAII
In addition to working on microbiomes that occur only in Hawaii, I am training students in data science techniques that can be used in a wide variety of research areas or industry jobs.
